Images of model Shai’La Yvonne win the #BeautifullyBrown contest to campaign against insulting statements made by A$AP Rocky.
(April 23, 2013 – Vallejo, CA) ahr.es.ihm by R. Shay Miles™, a division of ahr.es.ihm™ Apparel Group LLC (pronounced R.S.M) wins prizes and a feature on Ebony.com after joining the proud #BeautifullyBrown movement, which proved that dark women CAN and WILL wear bold, bright lips and that you do not have to be fair-skinned to get away with that. An overwhelming and relentless response to A$AP Rocky's ridiculous claims that targeted dark-skinned women.

ahr.es.ihm™ Black History Month Tribute: "Thirteenth Amendment"
Fashion designer R. Shay Miles along with model Shai’La Yvonne, African-pop artist Malik Seneferu, Cosmebar Salon, Shoe Groupie Boutique, and style and etiquette maven Sharelle D. Lowery pay tribute to Black History Month by merging their talents and creative expressions for the fashion editorial, ‘Thirteenth Amendment’.
(February 22, 2013 – Vallejo, CA) ahr.es.ihm by R. Shay Miles™, a division of ahr.es.ihm™ Apparel Group LLC (pronounced R.S.M) deviated from the seasonal collection lookbook to commemorate the 148th anniversary (on January 31, 1865) of the U.S. House of Representatives’ passing of the "Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution". On January 31, 2013 an elite team within the Bay Area’s fashion industry held an ambitious and powerful photo shoot at the posh, art deco ambiance of Shoe Groupie Boutique in Oakland (Uptown), California.
"We've advanced as a race, accept and adapt to societal challenges, and continually augment pop culture", said R. Shay Miles in an interview with Sharelle D. Lowery of ClassyBlackGirl.com. “These milestones are life affirming and life enhancing, which is what I intended for this slick, stern, and electrifying collection to represent.”
The ‘Thirteenth Amendment’ tribute focuses on the art of living Black in style with a juxtaposed color palette of Black History Month colors (i.e., black, blue, green, red, and yellow). The collection is a distinctive wardrobe based upon stylish, comfortable and interchangeable clothes for women, and combines practicality with the luxuriousness of novelty fabrics, faux fur, and lambskin leather.
The Vallejo-based fashion label invited one person from the media, Sharelle D. Lowery of ClassyBlackGirl.com, giving her exclusive access to the behind-the-scenes set and team of the tribute: Concord’s effervescent beauty and ravishing model Shai’La Yvonne; Vallejo’s Cosmebar Salon with Kimbe Abernathy, EnJoli Sodivine, and Malaika Umrani; Uptown Oakland’s Shoe Groupie, a new and multifarious boutique and art gallery, and where the renowned paintings of Malik Seneferu are on exhibit; and Vallejo’s elite photographer Tom Sparks of 707Multimedia.
“The team and I are grateful for all of the freedoms that have been afforded to us. And today, we combine our talents and creative expressions to exploit strength, enrichment, and beauty”, Miles says. "Today’s team donated their time and talent, and I’m enthralled that we’ve chosen January 31st as a day of service and a day of expression.”
