the youngest of social entrepreneurs Robert and Hattie Miles, shay has always been inspired by female philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers. that inspiration transferred into goals to enhance and appreciate a woman's gravitas and beauty; and drove her to study fashion design at Brooks College of Fashion Design & Merchandising. by directly observing and being inspired by numerous female role models as a teen, shay developed a goal to have an unparalleled impact by dressing the women of America and operating a trusted brand that puts a woman's grace and elegance first. that goal was nurtured, evolved, and expanded into ahr.es.ihm™ apparel group.
shay’s career in fashion marketing and merchandising began at venerable brands/companies like bebe®, Taubman Company, and The North Face®. her union of luxurious durable fabrics, timeless silhouettes, simplistic asymmetrical designs, and edgy aesthetic – have captivated the cryptic fashion mecca of the Bay Area, dubbing her the 'fashion baroness'.
inspired by heroines, the harlem renaissance, vintage hollywood glamour, and the new kingdom of egypt; shay’s infatuation with icons and pastime fashion eras are her strength. shay thrives on designing tribute collections and nostalgic recreations to reveal an extraordinary experience and foster new dialogue for fashion and style.
